We've heard the same music over and over and over, but I love it all. I was driving in the car and this song came to me, I recorded a few samples while stuck in Houston traffic. It sounds funny but it happens. I have always wanted to write an original Christmas tune. This is my first attempt and VoiceJam gave me an outlet for the music. I hope to be able to sing it with my family when we all get together. This song is just a little musical reminder of what Christmas is all about.

Thanksgiving was such a fun time with my whole family. My parents, my SIX siblings, a few spouses, a bunch of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. It was way too much fun. I wrote an original song for us to sing together which didn't end up happening because we were too busy singing other songs to my super cute little nephew. This is my VoiceJam version. Again, I don't do this kind of thing when I DJ, but this is me getting some harmonies out of my head. VoiceJam has given me an outlet :)

Thanks for coming to my website! I've been singing a lot more lately. Along with the weddings, parties, and proms that I do every weekend. I've been singing at lots of places. Many different types of places, too. To repay my college scholarships, I sing at about 15 different senior living places a month. Some of you know that I got scholarships by singing to old ladies :) So now, I've found the best way to cause smiles is singing a little Sinatra with a touch of Temptations to some old folks.

Other than that, Bailey and I just recently upgraded to IPHONES for business reasons. And also because they became cheap enough :) That led me to the very small purchase of a looper app called VoiceJam. It allows me to record and "loop" my voice. I've been having way too much fun with it.

This is NOT the kind of thing I sing at receptions or to old folks. This is just me getting harmonies out of my head that have not had a proper outlet. Enyoy.

Wowzer where to begin? It was a beautiful summer evening in Downtown Dallas at the Sheraton Hotel on the 38^th floor with a 360 degree view of downtown from above most of the other buildings.

Brian and Samantha came to me from Dan and Kayla’s wedding earlier in the year. One of my favorite things is doing weddings for people who are excited about having me back for their party after seeing me do another wedding. No trying out, just makin it happen. It does help take the pressure off of the entire evening.

After the cocktail hour, the bride and groom show up with their wedding party. 8 bridesmaids and groomsmen and every single one of them are worth it. They come dancing in with smiles on their faces before the grand entrance.

The first dance is beautiful and then the food. Oh the food. Delicately arranged salad, perfectly done steak and salmon with steamed carrots, broccoli, and some funny potatoes with a sweet roll. For dessert they had an artistic tower of chocolate filled with fruit and other artsy/tasty things. Great way to start the night. The father of the bride gave his toasts masterfully and with a sigh of relief, he sat down and the party went on.

Next thing we know the bride picks her dad up for the less stressful event of their dance. They allowed me to sing this one, which really makes the night special for me. Brian danced with his mom to a Sinatra song called You’re Just Too Marvelous for Words. Perfect. I hadn’t heard that one before but it now has a special place in my heart.

I sang a few more songs for the rest of the folks to dance to and then we had the anniversary dance. There were a lot of good couples at this wedding. Little by little they dropped until the last couple was left. They had been married for over 60 years. Their words of wisdom were simple and true, “to be honest; keep the Lord in it.” Amen.

On to the dance. The groom dedicated “Love Shack” to his mom and the rest of the evening was a little less organized than the paper I was handed but it all worked the way it was supposed to work; the bride and groom were happy.

We honeymoon/dollar danced it up for a little while and then danced some more. We then had a wonderful performance by a young lady named Megan who sang “Love song” by Taylor Swift for the bride and groom. That was just one of the events that made the night unique and special.

Cut the cake and dance some more. Bouquet and Garter happen in a fun little blur and the end is near. The bride and groom were partied out by the end of the night just like they should be. We had our last dance and the night was through. A wonderful evening with a wonderful family. I have the best job in the world!

Saturday in Austin for Clint and Whitney’s wedding. My old college roomie Andrew came to be my assistant/protégé/sidekick/lookalike this time while Bailey is at camp.

The ceremony was held at University Christian Church on the UT campus in Austin. The groomsman in charge of making me the CD made a DVD instead but we setup at 4 and the ceremony wasn’t until 7 so there was plenty of time to relax and fix the problem patiently and with as little stress as possible. I was proud of everyone for not taking their issues to the bride and groom. Note to potential wedding party members: never take problems to the bride and groom. The reason they have a wedding party is to make sure that if anything bad/stress-causing happens, the bride and groom don’t have to know. Anyways, good wedding party; crisis averted.

The ceremony went very well. Beautiful old church with smooth sailing. Classical music for classy individuals. The coordinator told me I could play whatever for the prelude music so I went and found my CD of the Three Tenors. Watching people’s reactions to the operatic ambience was amusing. They married and partook in a carriage ride to the reception.

The reception was at the Omni hotel in Downtown Austin. Memories; I had a formal in college here in the same room. Clint and Whitney came in after the wedding party to their first dance to Then by Brad Paisley. The groom prayed and the feast began. Chicken, steak, and salmon on a buffet with plenty to spare. Delightful. They visited with their guests then cut the cake and got toasted. J The bride’s dad went first and started off masterfully. He ended with a snide “beat that” and handed the mic to the groom’s brother. After the bride’s favorites toasted, the groom’s best friend and football buddy batted cleanup with grace and poise.

On to the dance: They allowed me to sing both the daddy/daughter and the mother/son dances before starting the party. And oh what a party. The family flapped and twisted and swung and cha cha’d their way into my heart. I wasn’t expecting such a classy ceremony to turn into such a rockin party and this was magically delicious. Red velvet cake, I gotta feelin, me singing and going over my time only to encore with Shout, wedding crasher style. (due to overwhelming request haha) Oh what a night.

I have just recently upgraded my DJ equipment and I must say it is quite exciting. My whole setup has undergone renovations and it has been super fun playing with my new toys. The bulk of the change is in the aesthetics. New toys and some sweet new up-lighting. I'll get some pictures up soon of the latest weddings and parties but it has definitely been like an early Christmas for me.

This holiday season has started out exciting and it will only get better. I have already done quite a few parties and weddings in October and November, but December will be the big daddy of them all. I've been blessed with 5 Christmas parties and 5 Weddings in 1 month! It's gonna be a good Christmas!

I did want to give a shout out to Kevin and Taylor, Ennio and Tiffany, and Daniel and Daena. They were the first to see my new gear in action and all 3 weddings deserve their own post later so I won't go into details.

I hope everyone has a wonderful time of thanksgiving and a beautiful christmas holiday. I definitely have some weddings to feature but that might just wait until I get my feet back on the ground in January.
