At any event, the DJ should be directly in front of the dance floor.  If there are tables between the DJ and the dance floor those poor souls get basted in bass.  And for some reason the lucky winners always tend to be the older crowd who already dislike noise in general.  Since I prefer to stay on the good side of the crowd, please, if at all possible, put me by the dance floor :)
