DJ Entertainer? Ostentatious much?  Here's the deal...Anybody can play music from an IPOD.  Music and technology have come a long way since the early days of Disc Jockeyness.  A real DJ knows how to pick music that fits the crowd.  Since no crowd is the same, I never make a playlist.  I know my music library as well as music in general well enough to be able to make sure any crowd's melodical cravings are satisfied. The music/entertainment at any event is what you remember most (even if it is all background stuff). The tone and atmosphere is set by the person in charge. At a wedding reception, you remember the party. Therefore, the DJ can make or break the night.

A DJ needs to know what is important. At a wedding, it is the tastes of the bride and groom ALONG with everyone else at the reception. But the bride and groom are the most important part of the event. The DJ represents the bride and groom through his music choices throughout the night.Everyone else's requests have to go through a filter of the bride and groom's preferences.

A real DJ knows music.  A DJ Entertainer knows more than just music. A DJ Entertainer is the full event experience specialist.  The MC, the DJ, the coordinator, and the party-maker.  The man with the mic has the power over how the evening goes.  That is why you must chose your entertainment carefully.  I have to know what music to play and when to play it, as well as how to keep the perfect balance of audience interaction and background music. 

So why do I call myself a DJ entertainer? Mostly because I sing. I don't just play music, I make music. I have been blessed with a whimsical musically delicious background.  You can be the judge of my overall talent, but the overall consensus is that I'm a pretty big deal :) Just ask my momma. Also, I have been labeled by others as a DJ entertainer because I can lead dances. I know many simple line dances (beyond Cupid Shuffle) and can use this as another form of entertainment, fun, and interaction with the crowd.

If you want a DJ who sits back and plays music in a tuxedo and that's it...I can do that...but why pay for that?  Get your cousin to do it.  I am here to make your event happen.  To make sure everything runs smoothly the way you want it to happen, as calm or crazy as you can imagine.

So please, take the time to find entertainment that is right for you.  If not me, there are others, but I like me better :)
